BLACKSBURG, Va. (WSET) - Flying burritos over Virginia Tech may sound like a college student's dream, but it will be a reality later this month.

That's when Google is set to begin testing drone delivery at the school.

Students and employees will be able to order Chipotle on a special kiosk at a Chipotle food truck on site and then it will be delivered to a confined area.

The self-navigation drones will lower the burritos using a tether.

Google says it chose to test food delivery to learn how to package sensitive cargo for drone delivery.

Google has been testing drones since 2014, viewing them as an environmentally friendly option for package delivery over fuel-powered vehicles.
