Staying busy and active during the summer months isn’t a hard thing to do.
There are plenty of activities to participate in - including basketball.
However, not everybody is happy about those who choose to play basketball in the street.
Flint Police say they’ve gotten complaints about people blocking traffic while playing basketball in the street. Others have left hoops in the street.
Police say doing either of those things will lead to fines.
"While we encourage kids to be outdoors, participating in exercise and fun with friends, there is a city ordinance against this activity in the street," the police force said in a Facebook post. "Please move any hoops you own onto your property to ensure that it is not removed by city personnel, to avoid potential fines and to keep kids out of harms way of vehicular traffic."
Violators face a $25 fine for their first offense and a doubled fine for each subsequent offense.
Should adults and kids be fined for playing basketball in the street?
