PITTSBURGH -- In Western Pennsylvania there are approximately 240-thousand living veterans, making it the 4th largest region in the country for veteran population.

With tax season in full swing - the deadline date for filing 2019 federal income tax returns is April 15 - an area professor and fellow veteran is combining his two passions to help those in need.

Robert Morris University Professor of Strategic Management Marcel Minutolo formed the non-profit "Free Tax Prep" partnering with the United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania, providing free tax prep for area veterans and low income families.

Minutolo recently appeared on "Issues on the Point" to discuss the specialty services his organization provides, who qualifies and how others can volunteer their tax prep expertise.

"Free Tax Prep" has been recognized nationally for tax filing accuracy.
