PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC season continues Sunday with a road trip to face the New York Red Bulls II, with the live broadcast coverage starting at 5 p.m. on 22 The Point.

Following a narrow 1-0 setback on Wednesday in the home opener at Highmark Stadium against Indy Eleven, the Hounds (2-1-0) will be finishing a three-games-in-nine-days stretch, looking to bounce back against the Red Bulls II (1-2-0).

Dating back to last season, the Hounds have a six-game winning streak on the road.

Despite Wednesday's loss, the Hounds still sit atop Group F.

Meanwhile, New York sits in third place in Group F – three points behind the Hounds.

Red Bulls II won its first match of the season this past Wednesday against Philadelphia Union II by a score of 5-1.

In series history, Pittsburgh has earned one victory (1-5-0) in road games against New York.

This win, by a score of 2-1, came on Aug. 14, 2019 - the last time the Hounds traveled to battle the Eastern Conference foe.

Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC on 22 The Point

As the 2020 Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC season restarts, 22 The Point (WPNT) is proud to announce a broadcast partnership with the USL club, carrying 11 regular season matchups.

The broadcast slate will highlight six home and five away matches, including nine division matchups against a combination of Hartford Athletic, Loudoun United FC, New York and Philadelphia.

“Back in March, we were thrilled to expand our service to include Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC soccer to our lineup of local sports on WPNT,” WPNT General Manager Richard Cook said.

“Now with all that has happened to sports in 2020, we are even more thrilled to bring the first live professional sports back to the Pittsburgh television audience starting in July.”

The set of games airing on 22 The Point is highlighted by a trip to Indy Eleven on Aug. 15 and three matches against perennial contender New York Red Bulls II, along with the season finale against Philadelphia Union II on Oct. 3.

“We are proud to be the first to bring professional sports back to the Greater Pittsburgh Area,” owner Tuffy Shallenberger said.

“We are grateful for our partnerships with AHN and 22 The Point, and excited to have eleven of our soccer matches locally televised to our southwest Pennsylvania communities, as well as an additional two games nationally broadcast on ESPN2.”
